just three things.

Hi  – Jerry here. I know getting emails on a Sunday isn’t ideal, but I want to share just three things you need to know right now:

  1. My Mid-February fundraising deadline is tomorrow, and my finance staff just told me we need to raise $3,921 before then to stay on budget.
  2. My election is 93 days away. I only have 93 days to travel across PA-18, connect with undecided voters, and take our grassroots movement to the next level.
  3. I have a clear path to victory, and people are starting to notice the strength this campaign has. PrimaryCast just projected as the current front-runner in this race!

So we can’t slow down now. If I’m going to keep this momentum and win this race, I need to hit every single fundraising goal.

Remember, I’m running to represent the people of PA-18 – not special interests or big dollar donors. I will never be bought by corporate PACs or fossil fuel big wigs.

That’s why every single grassroots donation counts, and every single grassroots donor gets me one step closer to being the leader PA-18 deserves.

Counting on you,

Jerry

The numbers are in (Don’t worry, it’s good news!)

I know you’re probably busy finishing up your work week, but I wanted to share some incredible news with you.

PrimaryCast just declared me as the current front-runner in PA-18 with a 48% chance of winning – that’s amazing at this point of the race!

PrimaryCast Polling

But I still need to raise $986 before my End of Week deadline in 2 days, and I can’t afford to slow down and lose this momentum. I have to knock on every door in the district, run more digital ads, and hire more incredible staff.

The only way I’ll be able to win and bring real change and leadership to the people of PA-18 is through grassroots donations from everyday people like you.

I know that together, we can win this race. I can’t do this alone, so I’m asking: Can you chip in $27 before my End of Week deadline?

I can’t thank you enough,

Jerry Dickinson

I grew up in foster care.

As a foster care kid, I was against all odds to one day run for Congress.

I grew up in a foster home with nine black and white siblings. And I saw that, for some of my siblings, their trauma led them down dark paths.

My brother Jamal spent years abusing drugs, getting arrested, and landing in and out of jail. My brother Irish fell down a similar path, and is now serving life in prison.

But my adoptive parents did everything they could to provide for us and pave the way for success. Thanks to them, I was able to make my own path.

The help I received to defy the odds, inspired me to dedicate my life to public service. First as a civil rights lawyer and Constitutional Law professor, and now as a candidate for Congress.

There’s a reason you don’t see many foster kids elected to Congress.

The foster care system and poverty go hand in hand. My adoptive parents didn’t have wealthy friends who could connect me to the best schools, internships, and jobs.

So when I entered this race, I knew I wouldn't have the advantages that other elected leaders tend to have.

I knew I wouldn’t have access to wealthy, well-connected donors who fund the politicians in Washington.

I knew that the odds would still be stacked against me in this race. But thanks to grassroots supporters like you, this campaign has continued to defy the odds.

Let’s bring it home,

Jerry Dickinson

Laying out the facts.

This is a long email, but it’s important, so I hope you’ll take the time to read it.

I’m going to lay out the facts and tell you why I need to raise $12,934 before my FIRST weekly deadline of February in 24 hours.

If you don’t have time, I completely understand – but please chip in $27 to my campaign before go >>

FACT: My campaign has been making waves throughout Pennsylvania and across the country.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Jerry Dickinson wants a new progressive energy in Washington

NPR:
Dickinson raised over $450,000 in 2021, all has come from individual donors

Brand New Congress:
Jerry is running a bold progressive campaign to fight for the working families of Pittsburgh

Everyday, more people are noticing how special this campaign is, and they’re more fired up than ever to elect a progressive champion to Congress.

But people will also be watching to see if my grassroots momentum can hold up, so I need your support to keep my people-powered campaign as competitive as ever.

All eyes are on Pennsylvania to see if we can come out on top. Please, can you chip in $27 before my first February deadline tomorrow?

CHIP IN $27 OR ANYTHING YOU CAN TO SEND ME TO CONGRESS >>

FACT: PA-18 is an OPEN and SAFE blue seat. We have an unprecedented opportunity to elect a bold progressive in this race.

The GOP has done everything in their power to gerrymander districts across Pennsylvania and ruin Democrats’ chances of keeping the majority in Congress.

But PA-18 is a secure, Democratic seat without an incumbent running for reelection.

This is our chance to make the GOP’s gerrymandering backfire and elect their worst nightmare: a progressive fighter who will end their far-right agenda.

But to win this race, I need the funds to keep my campaign on the move and meet with every single voter across the district before Election Day in a few months.

In a race like this, every dollar counts, so I’m humbly asking: Will you chip in $27 and get me to my goal before tomorrow’s fundraising deadline?

FACT: My election is only 101 days away.

In the past few months, we’ve proven that my campaign has the power to go all the way in this race.

But it’s already February, and May 17th will be here before we know it. I’m running out of time to prepare, fundraise, and reach out to every voter in the district.

My campaign is 100% grassroots funded and powered by everyday working people like you. It’s going to take a lot of $27 donations to keep my momentum up in this race.

The grassroots donations I receive in February will be key to winning this race in May. And if everyone reading this email chipped in even a few dollars, I’ll blow my weekly fundraising goal out of the water. Will you chip in $27 to help me win in PA-18?

Together, we’ll win.

Here’s where we’re at.

I wanted to pull back the curtain and explain why I need to raise $11,218 by tomorrow before my End of January fundraising deadline.

To be honest, fundraising isn’t easy – especially for a candidate like myself who refuses to be bought by special interests, and rejects corporate PAC money.

For other candidates, it’s simple. They can call up their big dollar corporate donors to bankroll their campaigns before every monthly deadline.

Well, that’s not me, which is why I can’t afford to miss a single fundraising goal. We only have 107 days until my election, and there’s a lot that needs to happen before then.

If I’m going to win this race, we need to:

  • Hire top-notch staff who are experts in building strong grassroots movements.
  • Travel throughout the district to knock on every door and connect with community members that are too often ignored by established politicians.
  • Boost our digital ads so I further my reach and can bring more people into this incredible movement.

I wanted to lay out all the facts for you because this is the reality of fundraising. It’s hard work, but it’s the only way to win this race and bring real change and leadership to the people of PA-18.

But if I don’t hit my End of January goal, we’ll have to make some tough decisions and scale back our budget, so I’m relying on your grassroots support to keep me in the fight.

Together, we can win this seat, but we need to hit every single goal before Election Day. So I’m personally asking you to join our grassroots movement: Will you rush $27 before my End of January deadline?

I hate that I have to ask for money to keep me in this race and deliver real results for the most vulnerable members of our community.

But I’m beyond proud to be fueled by a grassroots army of supporters across the country. Together, we’re building a lasting, people-powered movement.

I’m running to represent the people of PA-18 – not special interests or big dollar donors. Our community won’t be bought.

But if I’m going to win this race, I’ll need a huge surge in grassroots support before my End of Month deadline in two days. Can you chip in $27 to get me to the finish line?

Jerry DickinsonThanks for being a part of this movement,

My most important job: being a dad.

I’m running for Congress, but I’m a dad to two incredible daughters first.

Jerry with his wife Emily and their daughters
Jerry with his wife Emily and their daughters

Every decision I make on this campaign, I make thinking about the world I want to create for them and every child in this country.

I think about the gun violence epidemic, and how heartbreaking it is that our children fear for their safety in their own schools – a place that should be a safe haven for them.

I think about the climate crisis that our children are inheriting. In Pittsburgh, we have some of the worst air quality in the nation. Everytime I take my daughters to go play in the park, I worry about whether it’s safe for them to be outside.

I think about the future of our democracy. We want our children to grow up knowing that their voice matters, but the rise of white nationalism, xenophobia, and attacks on voting rights are putting that very notion at risk.

We need leaders who will fight to protect our childrens’ future, not fight for the interests of their wealthy campaign donors. I know I will be that leader for PA-18, but to win I need your support. We are $1,831 short of our daily goal. Can I count on you to chip in $27 right now?

I’m determined to build a brighter future for my daughters. As a member of Congress, I’ll fight for the policies that will ensure that.

We need to pass comprehensive gun reform to end the epidemic of gun violence in our country.

We need a Green New Deal to combat the devastating effects of climate change.

And we need to strengthen voting rights to reclaim our democracy for future generations.

I’m putting the interests of our children – not the interests of big dollar donors – first. That’s why I need your help to keep my grassroots momentum alive through Election Day.

Together, we can deliver a brighter tomorrow for generations to come. Will you chip in just $27 before midnight to fuel my campaign and join my fight?

I can’t thank you enough,

Jerry Dickinson
