I haven’t gotten much sleep and I have 7 back-to-back interviews today, so I must be brief.
Yesterday, I personally interviewed a total of 17 Members of Congress and Senators on the budget bill and other topics. That’s the most interviews I’ve done in a single day so far in my career.

Republicans tried to hide what was in the bill by ramming it through at 1 AM like the scammers they are.

Where politics helps or hurts people is where I focus.
Politics can be used for good—to deliver things that help improve the lives of people.
Politics can be used for bad—to obfuscate and inflict cruelty on people.
I want politics to be used for good.
I want a system that helps and doesn’t hurt people.
I am a simple guy who likes to keep things simple in this network.
I want to deconstruct and expose the facades and frauds—and use facts and evidence to highlight the human experience.
Most importantly, I like to listen.
I am proud as hell of our coverage, but I am prouder that we have instilled in our team at every level the importance of listening and understanding what people are going through.
The commas, periods, redlines, and punctuation in a bill puncture lives and families.
This is life and death for people. I don’t treat our coverage as some game. I treat it as life or death.
I wake up every day to meet the moment and respect the seriousness of the moment for our audience and for those who may become our audience in the future.
