Winds of Change: NY Rules for Birds | Top 10 Birds of 2021 | Birds & Wildlife Need $1B

An alarming plan to build wind turbines adjacent to an Important Bird Area in New York appears unlikely to be fully implemented thanks to a ruling by New York State's Office of Renewable Energy Siting. The decision, which calls for the six highest-risk turbines to be relocated or removed from the Heritage Wind plan, is an important step in the right direction for birds and bird-smart wind energy.

Urgent action and funds are needed to halt biodiversity loss in the U.S., including the protection of imperiled bird species. The Recovering America's Wildlife Act (RAWA) would provide much-needed resources for wildlife conservation across the nation by increasing funding for state action plans by more than $1 billion. Act now: Tell Congress to support RAWA!
