When I served in combat in Afghanistan, it wasn’t just soldiers who had our backs — it was civilians who became our brothers and sisters in arms.
They were our translators. Our guides. Our eyes and ears in hostile territory.
They weren’t just allies. They were the reason so many American soldiers made it home alive. Including me.
That is why I am disgusted to report that Donald Trump is sending them back to Afghanistan with a target on their back – essentially signing their death warrants.
This week, his administration revoked Temporary Protected Status for over 9,000 Afghan refugees—men and women who risked their lives helping our troops during the longest war in U.S. history.
I’ve served alongside these folks. One young man who worked as my interpreter faced constant death threats, but his instincts and his courage saved my life and the lives of my troops more than once.
So when I left, I made damn sure the interpreters who worked with my unit got out safely. Because that’s what America promised.
But now Trump — this coward who dodged the draft with a BS doctor’s note — is tearing up that promise.
To make matters worse, Trump’s deporting our allies while rolling out the red carpet for white South African farmers claiming “reverse racism.” That lie’s been debunked time and again, but MAGA doesn’t care.
If you’re rich and right-wing, the gates swing wide. If you're not, your loyalty doesn’t count.
This is the hateful, xenophobic core of MAGA on full display, the culture that the MAGA money mule Richard Hudson is fueling.
The King Rat of the Beltway is signing the damn checks that make this betrayal possible. He’s funding a movement that turns its back on honor, on loyalty, on everything we’re supposed to stand for.
I am pissed off beyond words.
Let’s call this what it is: White Christian nationalist cosplay from a bunch of crybaby authoritarians on the dumbest crusade imaginable.
Their fragile little egos can’t handle the idea that America isn’t just for them anymore. So they lash out—deport allies, punish refugees, and call it patriotism.
