Today’s Action: Keep climate infrastructure front and center in the budget reconciliation bill!

New York City just recorded its wettest hour in history from Tropical Storm Henri’s rainfall yesterday. It’s not just on our coasts, either. Flash flooding in Tennessee this week left 22 dead and more than 20 missing. With climate disasters on the rise, we can only expect worsening deluge events. We need action on climate change now, without delay.

Call (202-224-3121) or email your members of Congress and demand they champion bold climate infrastructure in the budget reconciliation bill, as well as demand its swift passage!

The United States continues to be one of the top producers of pollutants in the world.

The minute the House reconvenes, Democrats must stand together to pass a bold, progressive reconciliation bill with substantial climate initiatives. Now that President Biden’s historic infrastructure package has passed in the Senate, passing the reconciliation bill with a full scope of climate action must remain a top priority.

Global powers must take action to lower greenhouse gas emissions and consider providing assistance to vulnerable countries suffering the consequences of decades of industrialized pollution. Our legislators need to do some serious heavy lifting.

Call (202-224-3121) or email your members of Congress and call for their quick action on climate infrastructure immediately upon reconvening!

PS — Please don't forget to sign the petition to overturn laws that make homelessness a criminal offense, and be sure to follow OD Action on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
