37 Countries Have Less Child Poverty Than the U.S. But This Policy Could Change That

New op-ed from Senators Michael Bennet (D-Co.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio): Earlier this year, we passed into law an expanded Child Tax Credit to deliver monthly payments to millions of American families—to support our middle class and to sharply cut child poverty. But that new Child Tax Credit is set to expire next year. Our fight now is to make it permanent: It is a disgrace that so many children live in poverty in the richest nation in the world, and it’s wrong that so many American families can barely make ends meet. We can change this. The time is now. Help us permanently expand the Child Tax Credit.
