I'm German and am forever grateful for the U.S. freeing Europe from the Nazis. Your current President is a slap in the face of everyone who gave their life to free Europe of Hitler. Hopefully The U.S. does not make the same mistake as Germany did in 1933 and throw away your democracy and trade it in for a dictaorship. Katie, that was one of the most powerful videos I've ever watched on this site. Thank you!!!
I am a Canadian and even i understand that Trump should not be allowed anywhere near Arlington Cemetary. He is a disgrace.
I am the grandson of a ww2 and Korea vet. My grandfather signed up to serve at 16 years old and was part of the Normandie invasion. He successfully charged up the beach but then stopped when a mortar exploded behind him and he heard the cries of the wounded. He ran back and picked up a nearby soldier and carried him back down towards the water where the nearest medics were. He then charged back through the gunfire, storming the beach for the second time that day. 60 years later he met that soldier he had carried once again. He was living in California and gone on to to have children and grandchildren. Memorial day is about honoring valor and sacrifice. Not posturing.
As the grandson of a Navy man who fought bravely in the Pacific I want to make something perfectly clear to Donald Trump. The American military does not exist to spread democracy around the world at the point of a gun, but to DEFEND democracy. Perhaps, Mr Trump, if you cared, at all about our country, you would know that.
Retired 81 year old attorney here. I earned my BA, MA, and JD degrees in the 1960's after serving four years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Thank you Katie, for sharing your warm and deeply felt thoughts on this Memorial Day. Your are a credit to the legal profession, a terrific addition to the Meidas Touch Network, and a most decent and wonderful human being. All Americans are so proud of you in so many ways! Keep up the great work!
Today I share my mom's legacy of
being a Rosie in WWII.
5ft 100lb Rosie The Riveter, my mom, who was lifted by a crane, in her leathers, welding tank and torch, into the tiny spaces to build warships. Because of her dedication and pride of being a Rosie she died way too young from asbestos lung cancer.
I will NEVER allow an old man, dead on the inside, to disparage or dismiss my mom. She held more bravery and love for America in her tiny body than the obese ogre rotting in the oval office ever will have.

My cousin Sophie Scholl the White Rose was executed as part of the French resistance in Germany for publishing pamphlets against Hitler. For her heroism and valor she was executed in Germany on 2/22/1944. “The Sun Still Shines”. WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU SOPHIE!!! You are a real hero. GOD bless the White Rose
We have DINING ROOM SET that belonged to a HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR....pieces fall off & it shows its age...but I REMEMBER ESTHER! She & her husband lived a modest ife, raised 2 sons, maybe she even purchased the furniture used. She subsequently contracted POLIO during the U.S. epidemics & one arm remained paralyzed. I also have a wall mirror from her home that reminds me of the importance of REFLECTION. Behind the recently restored NOTRE DAME, down steps to the river, is a quiet memorial to the French Holocaust. It's worth remembering NIEMOLLER's words:
Convicted Felon Donald Trump insanely lashes out on Memorial Day. Katie Phang on how Americans died for democracy and how we are the American Resistance. Subscribe to Katie's Substack here: https://katiephang.substack.com
