Cori is making real progress for St. Louis and communities like it.
Last week, the House passed the COMPETES Act — and along with it, SIX of Cori's amendments, all rooted in creating a more just world:
✅ Vaccine Diplomacy: an amendment to expand testing and vaccine distribution globally
✅ Transfer Credits from Alternative Secondary Schooling: an amendment to make investments in our HBCUs and expand opportunities for Black students
✅ Solar Manufacturing: an amendment to help the U.S. transition to green, renewable energy
✅ Water Pollution Study: an amendment to study the impact of fossil fuel pollution and plastic ingestion on sea life
✅ Offshore Wind Targets: an amendment to strengthen our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions
✅ Environmental and Public Healthy Study on Afghanistan: an amendment to study the consequences of U.S. regulations and sanctions in Afghanistan
These amendments are major victories for St. Louis, our country, and our world — and bring Cori's total to more than 20 pieces of legislation passed through the House in just over one year in office.
Over 20 pieces of legislation in 13 months. We can't emphasize enough how monumental it is that Cori is only a freshman in Congress, but has already started delivering on her promise to enact real, meaningful change in our politics.
And our work is just getting started — legislation including Cori's resolution to expel GOP insurrectionists from Congress, the Green New Deal for Cities, the People's Response Act, Medicare for All, and more are still waiting for a vote in the House.
But here's our biggest problem in continuing this progress: Our movement is facing many challenges from obstructionist Members of Congress and the Jim Crow filibuster to attacks from the far-right. With Cori's primary quickly approaching, opponents are preparing potential runs against Cori and GOP super PACs are readying to spend millions in an attempt to defeat Cori.
Cori needs this grassroots team to have her back so she can keep her focus on working to save lives and transform livelihoods. Please, will you make a $5 donation right now to help re-elect Cori so she can continue boldly leading legislation like the six amendments passed last week?
Together,
Team Cori
