America prides itself on creating a competitive environment where innovation and ingenuity are rewarded with business success. But when a handful of companies take over an entire industry, they raise prices for everyone else.
Four meat-packing companies control 85% of the beef market, 54% of the poultry market, and 70% of the pork market. This means that farmers are getting paid less for their products, and families are paying more at the supermarket.
We need to break up meat-packing monopolies so farmers get paid more and families pay less. Will you help us do that by contributing today?
This is a time of deep economic uncertainty. We need to stop middle-men from boosting their bottom lines at the expense of the middle-class. Republicans are perfectly fine with monopolies, because they work for the CEOs. If they take the House this year, they won’t do a thing.
Will you pitch in a donation so Democrats can keep the House and continue our work to regulate these monopolies?
