BREAKING: Republican Recall committee violated campaign laws

 

Hi, it’s Honey Mahogany, chair of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee, writing to you on behalf of Chesa Boudin, the progressive prosecutor fighting to reform our criminal justice system.   A new report shows the committee working to overturn the will of the voters and throw Chesa out of office has violated campaign laws by misrepresenting its paid spokesperson as an independent critic. Put simply, the recall committee is trying to pretend to be a home-grown Democratic movement, but they’re actually paid shills for the GOP.  As the chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party, I stand with Chesa. And I want to make clear that you should not be fooled by illegal, GOP-funded ads trying to stop our criminal justice reform movement in its tracks. The recall committee is trying to pretend it isn’t funded by the GOP, but we know the truth. And voters deserve to know who is behind this effort. Chesa’s campaign is fighting tooth and nail to expose the Republican recall for what it is, but they have a massive fundraising advantage, and we need your help. Can we count on you to donate $20 or more to help us defeat the recall and keep our movement on track?
