We're taking TX voter suppression to court.

Texas Republicans are trying to steal elections in plain sight. Their new district maps disenfranchise thousands of Texans, especially people of color.

They're racist and undemocratic, and we think they're illegal. That's why we're suing the state of Texas for fair maps. Chip in to support our fight for voting rights in Texas »

Thank you.

Republican voter suppression is nothing new in Texas and that means our fight to protect voters continues.

This year, Greg Abbott and the Republican state legislature passed one of the most restrictive voter suppression bills in the nation, doing everything in their power to disenfranchise Texans.

Now, Gov. Abbott has signed into law stunning new district maps. Republicans are planning to steal elections in plain sight.

Folks, Texas has violated the Voting Rights Act in every redistricting cycle since the law was passed, and this year looks like no exception.

These districts are so dramatically undemocratic and lopsided that Texas Republicans stand to gain at least 10 safe seats in the House for the next decade. Those are crucial votes when Democrats only hold a 3-vote margin in the House today.

This comes as Texas becomes more diverse. Almost all of our population growth over the last decade was driven by people of color moving into our cities, while over 100 rural counties lost significant amounts of their population. But Republicans don't care. They didn't draw a single new majority-minority district.

By packing Democratic voters into a few gerrymandered districts and slicing up other communities to dilute their voting power, the Texas GOP is trying to cement its grip on power for the next decade or more.

That's not democracy. We're not going to sit around and let it slide. We're suing the state of Texas for fair maps.

Redistricting lawsuits are notoriously long and difficult. Winning this fight will take resources, but we refuse to allow millions of Texans to be disenfranchised.

Will you chip in to support our lawsuit against this racist redistricting power grab?

Thank you.
