At least 10 people who attended the January 6 rally before the insurrection were elected into office last week:

Dave LaRock: reelected to the Virginia House of Delegates

John McGuire: reelected to the Virginia House of Delegates

Marie March: elected to the Virginia House of Delegates

Natalie Jangula: elected to city council in Nampa, ID

Christine Ead: elected to city council in Watchung, NJ

Charles Ausburger: elected to town council in Mansfield, CT

Susan Soloway: reelected to the Board of Directors in Hunterdon County, NJ

Matthew Lynch: elected to the local school committee in Braintree, MA

Danielle and Stephen Lindemuth: both elected to the school board in Elizabethtown, PA

Meanwhile, 57 state and local GOP officials who attended the rally that preceded the deadly riot will be on the ballot next year — and are likely to win.

Every American should be horrified by this. We must keep fighting to defend our democracy from the forces of authoritarianism.
