Today’s Action: Boycott Nabisco!
Union Local 364 workers employed by Nabisco are still on strike fighting for better working conditions and schedules following union bakers’ en masse walk out of the Oreo and Ritz factories nearly a month ago. Nabisco’s parent company, Mondelez International, sent a cease-and-desist letter to the union — and even threatened legal action if they continued impacting plant operations.
This past Monday we celebrated Labor Day, a holiday meant to commemorate the labor movement and the contributions of laborers to the American experiment. Reflecting on those celebrations should only further support the facts that all workers deserve a living wage, healthy working conditions, and the sacred ability to fight for a better workplace. Which is why we need to support the striking workers at Nabisco at risk of legal retaliation now more than ever.
Executives and shareholders need to know that corporations that mistreat their workers won’t receive our business. We need all hands on deck to support the workers of Union Local 364 in their fight for a better workplace.
Make plans to boycott Nabisco until they reach a new agreement with the union. Leave products like Chips Ahoy!, Belvita, Oreo, Ritz Cracker, Teddy Grahams, Triscuit, and Fig Newtons on the store shelves in solidarity with the striking workers of Nabisco.
Want to send an extra message to striking Nabisco workers and let them know what you’re doing to support them? Record a video to share here! You can also spread the word about the strike using the hashtag #BoycottNabisco.
PS — Please don't forget to sign the petition demanding the Texas legislature overturn the governor's deadly decision to lift the mask mandate, and be sure to follow OD Action on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
