Last week, I proudly endorsed Nina Turner in Ohio's 11th congressional district primary.
Over the past month, special interest groups and dark money super PACs have made Nina their number one target. Outside money has been pouring into this race, and her opponents have been flooding the airwaves with false attacks and negative ads to put a stop to her tremendous momentum.
Nina's final FEC fundraising deadline of the primary is tomorrow, July 14 — and I'm hoping our movement can show up for her in a big way today. With early voting already underway and just a few short weeks to go in this race, Nina needs to know we have her back here in the home stretch. So I have to ask:
Will you split a $10 contribution between Nina Turner and our campaign today? Anything you can chip in before tomorrow's deadline will be put straight to work helping Nina win this special election and toward our efforts building progressive power across the country.
If you know Nina, you know that she's spent her entire career fighting for working people. She has been a champion for our movement’s progressive values, and is ready to bring her energy and commitment in the fights for a Green New Deal, for Medicare for All, for a $15 minimum wage, and for our entire agenda of justice to Congress.
Nina knows that the intersecting crises we face in our country — climate change, a public health pandemic, racial injustice, economic inequality — must all be met with solutions that match the scale of the problem.
I know that Nina is fiercely committed to that task, and is going to stand up and fight to make our agenda a reality. That's why our movement needs her in Congress, and it's why I hope you'll join me in supporting her campaign today:
Will you split a $10 contribution between Nina Turner and our campaign ahead of her final FEC fundraising deadline of the primary? I would not ask if it were not so important.
The super PACs and their corporate donors have deep pockets and raise money tens of thousands of dollars at a time. Nina is running a people-powered, grassroots campaign that raises money $5, $10, and $27 at a time.
That may seem like a big mismatch, and it is. It really is. But just last year, I saw firsthand what our movement can accomplish when we stand together and fight back.
Let's do it again for Nina today.
Thank you for your support.
